This renders poorly with BFC on. I wonder if we shouldn't close up the subparts.

and from the BL pics, looks like there are variants with inside/outside marbling instead top/bottom...
quite visible in these parts:

the other parts are like here: top/bottom mixed, mostly transparent/transparent (how does that render? instead of transparent/solid)

That's not necessary (actually would look bad) for fully transparent parts. And as René says, it seems that opaque/trans version have a different marbling pattern (could be done with a core like 1995 (https://library.ldraw.org/parts/list?tableSearch=1995p)

why? now there is a inside face in a continuous colored area...
maybe revert that and use new subfiles...
in cases like this one, use only these borders where they are needed.

This one is trans red/trans black, so there should be no internal closure. We must not get fooled by non-transparent color 16.

Nothing in BI mesh. it has to be done manually (like I did for 1995). BTW, the version that has opaque internal marbling has a different p/n, 94448: https://brickset.com/parts/design-94448

According to me, no, as the real part is fully transparent, so separator wouldn't give good result.

You can see down "into" the solid portion of the part through the transparent section. You shouldn't be able to do this.

Unless the outside is painted (it isn't) then there is solid plastic. I shouldn't be able to see the inside faces or, in this case, those faces a culled and see "through" the part to the outside. NOCLIP doesn't solve this problem since it will just keep the faces from being culled but you will still see the interior of the part.

i guess as long as the opacity comes from # of view axis entries/exits and not from the material thickness, this discussion is irrelevant as it will never be right...
